Ricamare

L'arte del ricamare The sfilatures are the embroideries to perform after having unthread the cloth, gathering and knotting with the needle, in varied ways, the removed threads. Their traditional use foresees the finishing touch of the laundry, but they creates fascinating games of light also prepared vertically to mullions on it extends, centers and tablecloths. They especially perform on fabrics to regular plot.

Hemstitch

Unthreading from angle

To remove the threads and, in correspondence of the angles, to cut them to around 1 cm from the borders.
To refold them on the reverse and to stop them to impuntura.
To refold the half angle, right against right, making to fit the sides. To fold up the superior point of the angle toward the inside so that touches the angle of the sfilatura, to press with the fingernail along this line so that a well visible fold remains and on this to perform an impuntura.
To cut out to half cm from the seam and to open her/it well flat.
To turn the right angle and to refold an edge stopping him/it with a tacking.

Simple hemstitch

To work on the reverse of the left sfilatura toward right.
To pick up with the needle (from right toward left) 4 threads around of the sfilatura slightly throwing for getting a mullion.
To aim downward the needle from the tall one taking 2 threads around of fabric to free the mullion.
To always continue this way.

Hemstitch to colonnette

To work on the reverse of the left sfilatura toward right.
To pick up with the needle (from right toward left) 4 threads around of the sfilatura slightly throwing for getting a mullion.
To aim downward the needle from the tall one taking 2 threads around of fabric to free the mullion.
To always continue so on both the sides of the sfilatura.

Zig zag hemstitch

To work on the reverse of the left sfilatura toward right.
To pick up with the needle (from right toward left) 4 threads (or however always an equal number) of the sfilatura slightly throwing for getting a mullion.
To aim downward the needle from the tall one taking 2 threads around of fabric to free the mullion (figure 2).
To always continue for a side of the sfilatura this way.
On the opposite side to work in the same way but picking up for every point 2 threads (or however the half) of a mullion and 2 threads (or however the half) of the following mullion to create a zig-zag.

Stings gigliuccio with point picture

To work on the right of the right job toward left on a triple sfilatura: to remove 1 thread of fabric, to jump 4 of them, to remove 10 threads of fabric, to jump to remove 1 thread of fabric 4 of it.
To perform on the superior sfilatura a turn to point picture.
To also work a turn to point picture on the inferior sfilatura performing at the same time the knot that unites 2 mullions and that it gives origin to the gigliuccio, more precisely: during the execution of the second point picture after having taken aloft the horizontal threads some second mullion, to enter to the left with the right needle under the preceding mullion and that execution.
To pass the needle from the low veso the tall one in the ring formed him and to throw forming the knot.
To enter to the left with the right needle under the second mullion.
To take back the execution of the point picture.
